Paul and Nicole were married on their own private property at Chatsworth in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The property is elevated on a ridge, with magnificent country views to the North and South. The wedding was a DIY community affair, with a huge marquee going up on the neighbours vacant block. With one primary shooter away on a destination shoot in Borneo, Zelle shot this wedding with photographer Bob Gould.
Nicole and Paul called about a wedding photographer just three weeks before the occasion. They had already booked a Brisbane photographer, but cancelled after their engagement photosession. We always reiterate to our couples that you truly get what you pay for when it comes to wedding photographers. And saving money in the short term can be a mistake in the quality in the long term. So we did an engagement session with them, got to know them and the location, and they loved the photos. Or, as Nicole described, the care and effort we put into our time with them made all the difference. What a relief!!
The wedding day dawned and it had rained solidly for three days. Nicole raced off to the shops to buy umbrellas. But around noon, the rain stopped. A lot of Nicole’s family flew in from Canada for the wedding. There are three standouts from this amazing day. 1. Canadians – challenge Aussies and Canadians to a wedding photo shout off and see who wins. 2. The ladder – Zelle asked Paul for a ladder for the family group photos. The size of the thing he produced could have caused altitude sickness. 3. The rest of the story – check out our blog for their full story, the engagement, the wedding photos, maternity baby bump photos and just last week, the arrival of their newborn son. It’s a total delight to share the story of this gorgeous, growing family.
